Thank you for sharing this aaaaaand f these intolerant men. Almost 7 years later, I can still feel my rage about this seething beneath the surface. Sincerely, a person who pumped in the press box at Notre Dame Stadium

Puritan America…god this stuff sucks so much. I’m from MN (go Twins, if they’d only try), but I’ve lived in Europe for 15+ years. Literally every mom in the country I live in breastfeeds. We have two kids (10 & 13 now) and they were breastfed.

At the cafe. Breastfeed. At the park. Boom, breastfeed. On the metro? Kid’s hungry, LFG. Absolutely no one thinks this is weird even a little bit. Baseball is still, for the dudes, a dudes thing I guess…which is also interesting and dumb because some of the best coverage of the sport comes from non-male journos/writers. Really sorry about shit like this.

Breast milk is an extraordinarily valuable commodity for children, especially colostrum . Only women can produce it. Probably half of all men even know what it is. It saves lives. Women who have it donate it to hospitals. If they work away from home they often have to make a tough choice. To shoulder the burden of pumping milk or to feed babies formula, made by a for profit company. Sure, they could stay home if the family could live on one income But then they don’t earn any social security . If their husbands divorce them, Their retirement money can be skimpy. I doubt if trump or musk give a shit, if it has ever crossed their minds.

So well written, and a helpful illustration that the “absence of malice” is not an acceptable baseline.

what the fuck Yankees. this makes me so angry and frustrated. also indicative that they don't employ enough women, and women above 25, but we already knew that.

So many places are non-compliant. I Most workplaces w/ 50+ employees are legally obligated to provide a private space to pump and that private space a) can't be a bathroom and b) can't be too inconvenient or inaccessible so as to interfere with your job responsibilities.

Would be interesting and probably infuriating to see which ballparks/teams are most/least accommodating
